Welcome to MiluEM

MiluEM is a network of 250+ experienced volunteer emergency medicine specialists from around the world committed to helping and supporting Israel’s emergency medicine community during times of crisis and beyond.

MiluEM aims to provide clinical support, promote academic progress, and help foster professional development for the emerging specialty of emergency medicine in Israel.

Our objectives are to assist and work alongside Israel’s medical community in: providing consistent high-level patient care - no matter the circumstances (e.g. large scale war or natural disaster); developing world-renowned academic programs; and nurturing international partnerships and bidirectional collaborations.

Our Goal
To partner volunteer emergency medicine (EM) physicians from across the world with Israeli emergency departments (EDs) across the country based on their current and projected needs.

Rationale
EM in Israel is a young specialty with tremendous growth potential and clinical, educational and academic support needs that preceded October 7th. After October 7th, over 350,000 reservists were called up to serve and protect Israel, including a significant number of EM providers, leaving several emergency departments across the country further understaffed.
Our Call to Action
Join our growing network of EM volunteers to get matched to one of Israel’s EDs for an initial period of at least two weeks. Your volunteer service will include a combination of site-dependent clinical and educational roles. This initial deployment will serve as a foundation for further support roles in the months and years that follow.

Process
MiluEM vets all EM volunteers, coordinates the ED matching process, facilitates Israeli medical licensing through the Israeli Ministry of Health, arranges funding to sponsor deployments, and assists with deployment logistics.

The MiluEM community has come together to support and partner with our dedicated and hard-working Israeli EM colleagues to meet current and projected needs.
